It's Sunday again, so here are a few verses for you to meditate on today. I will keep it very short and simple.
In a world that is constantly telling us to hustle hard and be uncontrollably busy, God invites us to, yes, work hard and unto Him, but to make time for rest. Rest is not laziness, it is being proactive. It is taking the time to recognize that we need it and in that time of rest we are able to refocus on what is most important-- our relationship with our Savior. All the things we work so hard for in this world will eventually fade, but the Father? His love for us? It will never fade. Take some time to rest in Him today, friends. It is here, in His healing, restoring, loving arms that we find true rest.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
"So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall." Hebrews 4:9-11
“Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you."
Happy Sabbath, friends.
