Day 12: Peace in Every Day

January 12, 2020

Well, it's Sunday again so just like last week I will be sharing a verse and a few thoughts rather than the usual longer devotional I post every day. Today while searching through my photos I found a screenshot of the following verses and immediately felt the Holy Spirit reminding me that these words are for me, for all of us, today and every day. As you meditate on these scriptures I pray God will give you an ever-deeper understanding of His Word and a greater sensitivity to His speaking and leading.

"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

These verses are pretty clear, but sometimes it helps to write out the main points to get it through our, oftentimes, stubborn skulls. Here is a simple outline I made to help myself remember this and repeat it to myself throughout the day. Perhaps it will help you also.

1. Don't worry (PERIOD)

2. Pray about it ALL

3. Tell God what you are needing (it's okay to be specific)

4. Thank God (He has already done SO much!)

5. Experience ultimate PEACE! (He is Yahweh Shalom!)

Praying the peace of Christ over you today and every day.

Happy Sabbath!
