Day 30: Spring is Coming
After winter comes to the end of its time I'm usually one to want to skip right to summer. I love the sunshine and the heat. But this year, I am beyond ecstatic for spring, a season I've never been super excited about, but this year it holds so much more meaning to me. Over these last few months of waiting and praying, of parts of life that feel bare yet hectic and like I'm getting nowhere, yet it is in this place that God hears our prayers and is answering them in His perfect way and timing long before we cry our requests... It is in this place that I keep hearing God whisper... "Spring is coming!" And my heart leaps with joy at just the thought of spring.
As we come to the close of this 30-day devotional, I wanted to end this with some words of hope and encouragement and the words that, yet again, the Father has led me to is, "Spring is coming!" There is something new about to be born. There is new life waiting around the corner. Prayers answered, healing in completion, the hibernation of winter at its end now revealing the promises of the Spring. It's coming, child.
Spring has several definitions, and not just for the season of course. But here are some of the translations and different meanings of the word "spring" that, well, sprung out at me.
Spring /spriNG/ (verb) 1. move or jump suddenly or rapidly upward or forward. 2. originate or arise from. (noun) 1. the season after winter and before summer, in which vegetation begins to appear, in the northern hemisphere from March to May and in the southern hemisphere from September to November.
Spring. To arise from something, to suddenly move or jump upward or forward, the season of vegetation. It's coming. It's time we arise, children of God, it's time we prepare for, and position ourselves for a sudden jump, a move upward and forward from this cold winter. Vegetation is around the corner. New life and promises are waiting to bloom in abundance in your heart and life. He is doing something new in you. He wants to birth something beautiful, outrageous, and joyful in your heart. Are you ready?
That miracle, that answer to prayers, that promise is there. That marriage, that baby, that new, bright, beautiful thing is on its way. Rest in knowing your God is sovereign and His timing is perfect. If you've been waiting, you're in good hands. Though winter has made you fold your petals in, the light of spring is on its way to open you up in a beautiful bloom. But beyond all that, beyond receiving all those good promises, remember where your true hope and purpose and heart lies, in the God of all who whispers to His children, "Do you see it? Spring is coming!"
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
