Day 14: His Favorite

There is something so special, so sweet about knowing that someone loves you... knowing that you are someone's best friend, that they light up when they see you, that they love spending time with you, something so heartwarming about being someone's favorite... Knowing that you can always count on them to encourage and love you.

If you feel like you aren't anyone's favorite right now, and like no one in the world sees you, I'm here to tell you that YOU, beautiful soul, are in fact someone's favorite. There is someone who is absolutely crazy about you. Someone who is madly, recklessly, deeply in love with you. That someone is your Heavenly Father.

Yes, favorite usually means that there is just one that you like best, but what is so amazing about our Abba is that there are billions of us out there, yet He loves each and every one of us so personally and individually as if we were all He had and he calls every single one of you His favorite.

You are the most valuable to Him. Out of everything. The Sun, the moon, the stars, animals, deserts, mountains, oceans deep, planets, the heavens, more than anything else. You are His favorite. He would choose you over all those magnificent creations faster than you can blink, over and over again. He just wants you. Your heart, your soul, your life, attention, communication, your love, all of you.

How do we react to such a love that is counter-cultural to our world, to humanity itself? How do we respond to such a beyond logic, such an unheard of, incomprehensible, relentless, fierce, inconceivable, outrageous, perfect love?

We should respond in humility, honor, surrender, and confidence. Confidence that we are indeed His favorite, that we are in fact all He wants. You are a child of the Creator of this Universe and everything in it, around it, and outside of it. Everything in creation is His, because He is the artist who made it all, yet he chooses you, forever, to name as His own, to call His favorite.

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him." John 3:16-17

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

"Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." Ephesians 3:17-19
