Day 13: Just Be Held

Have you ever just been straight up heartbroken? Simply just broken... in a place that feels hopeless and heart-wrenching? Where no one can comfort you or give you the words you need? The strength you need? The peace and warmth, and to be held the way you need? We all react differently to heartbreak, but we all deeply desire for someone or something to take the pain away and to give us what our heart craves.

When our circumstances and situations take us to the very pits of the Earth, to the most heart-breaking, breath-taking of pains, that is usually where we look to, sadly, the last place we always look: to God.

God should be our automatic go-to. In pain, in sickness, in happiness, in confusion, in all. If He isn't your automatic, you're going to be searching for a while and it's going to hurt all the more looking for what you need in the fading and failing things of this world.

Today I just want to encourage you to have a true encounter with your Savior. Nothing crazy, deep theological bible study here today. I feel the Lord leading us to just take a moment, right here, right now, this morning, night, whatever time it is wherever you are at, and to just be held by Him. To just be with your Savior.

God being your Savior means that He literally saves you. He saves you from your pain, your depression, your loss, your failures, your pride, yourself. He saves you from the hopeless circumstances of your life by becoming your true Hope and your only safe haven.

God desires to heal your broken heart, to make it new and covered in His love. He wants to completely and totally saturate you in His love, joy, peace, and comfort. He is with you. He is for you. He holds you in His safe, almighty arms. Rest in Him today and simply, just be held.

"The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." Proverbs 18:10

"What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

"I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me." Psalm 120:1

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18
